
Arthritis is a condition that destroys articular cartilage and tissues. There are over 100 different types of arthritis. They are basically named based on the body tissues affected. Normally arthritis afflicts the elderly and some middle aged person’s. However, there are few cases reported amongst the young population. It is a degenerative disorder. Progressively it leads to disability in most people if not we’ll managed. The two most common forms are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is a wear and tear form. In other words the articular cartilage rub on each other leading to erosion and damage. Obesity may be a prime causative factor. In rheumatoid arthritis, the bodies own immune system mistakenly attacks the joints synovial membrane mistaking it as non-self. This leads to progressive damage of joint tissues.

Most of the treatments that are administered are focused on inflammation, swelling and pain management. However the root causes are rarely addressed. Even though this approach provides symptomatological relief it’s a double edged sword. Since the joints are rubbing on one another, by masking the pain, we are giving the client a false feeling of being healed. They then end up misusing those joints leading to more damage and deformities. This progression could’ve been slowed by the concerned persons concentrating and also being a part of the healing process. You may add a tablespoon of turmeric to a glass of milk and drink at bedtime daily. One may also use the juicer. You may prepare and drink fresh turmeric juice alone or blended with other foods.
